Ha Na sat behind Rodrigoâs desk, her fingers caressing the warm wood with a smile playing on her lips. Silly dragon. How could he honestly believe she would ever leave Brazil without him? Rodrigo was hers and she was never letting him go.
Yes, it had taken him a while to figure it out, but she was willing to excuse him. As all dragons were quick to point out, they hadnât seen a mage in five hundred years. The poor dragonâs mate-spotting instincts were probably stunted, or at least in hibernation mode. Sheâd been forced to flirt shamelessly and drop massive hints that they belonged together. If not for Thiagoâs urging, she might have started to question her own instincts.
But no, Rodrigo was hers.
They were going to be bonded.
She was staying in Rio with the Valerii.
These were all facts chiseled in stone.
It was an added bonus that she was here for the sake of all the unmated dragons. These poor ice dragons had no idea what they were doing with the new generation of mages. They needed help finding mages, and when they were located, the dragons were definitely going to need help wooing them.
Sitting back in Rodrigoâs plush leather chair, she allowed her smile to turn a little wicked. She hadnât gotten the chance to use her matchmaking skills in a long time, and there were many ice dragons in need of mates. Remaining in Rio was the best thing for her and for the Valerii Clan.

She would be open to discuss the change at nine-thirty in the morning. Sheâd then turned off her phone. Both of them would blow her phone up with calls and texts at all the ungodly hours, and sheâd very much wanted to spend some uninterrupted time with her new mate.
As sheâd finished a leisurely breakfast with Rodrigo, sheâd turned on her phone to discover sixteen missed calls and forty-two text messages from her grandchildren and even her grandchildrenâs mates. Rodrigo had bragged about receiving a few messages from King Alric. Her lovely mate had only replied to confirm everyone was well and safe.
Such a good, playful mate.
At precisely nine-thirty, the Skype app on Rodrigoâs computer lit up with an incoming call. Sheâd been expecting this and was prepared. Theyâd used Skype to frequently chat since sheâd arrived in Rio, but it was usually on her phone. No, this time she wanted the joy of seeing their expressions on Rodrigoâs large computer screen.
She hesitated for a second, drawing out the moment because maybe she was a little bit of a tease and a drama queen, as her granddaughter would say.
The large screen immediately filled with two of the most important faces in her world. How her daughter had
